Glasshoughton Welfare manager Rob Hunter believes his side face a tough test when they travel to Basford United on Saturday, writes James Grayson (Twitter: @jamesAgrayson).
Glasshoughton, who are yet to earn a point at home, have taken 17 points from Toolstation NCEL Premier Division matches away from Leeds Road.
Welfare were just minutes from beating Pickering Town in midweek to end their home hoodoo, but Pickering scored twice late-on to claim a dramatic victory.
Hunter and his assistant Mark Smitheringale fielded a new formation – 3-4-1-2 – against Pickering, but the Welfare boss is unsure whether it will be used at Basford.
He said: “I’m not saying that is what we’ll play on Saturday because we’re away from home at Basford on the back of some poor results.
“But, our away form has been absolutely brilliant, we have got 17 points from our away games.
“It’s a funny game when you play them matches away from home and get all them points at difficult points, but can’t hold onto a lead at home.
“But, I think we can go to Basford with high spirits. On Saturday I think we did ok against Tadcaster and then against Pickering I thought we were very good.
“Basford are a new team to the league and I don’t know too much about them. I think they will be a team who will physical. Most teams from the Nottinghamshire area are good sides at home so it will be tough.”
Joel Freestone, Dave Ward, John Hirst and Tim Curtis are all set to miss the trip to Basford because of injury.
