Former Scarborough Athletic captain Tony Hackworth’s move to Tadcaster Albion has lasted just three weeks.
Hackworth has moved onto Tadcaster’s Toolstation NCEL Premier Division rivals Pickering Town to become one of Mitch Cook’s first signings.
Hackworth’s departure will come as a surprise for many as Tadcaster manager Paul Marshall had chased his signature for over a month and after signing him, Marshall said he was the “biggest signing” of his “managerial career”.
Hackworth enjoyed a memorable debut by scoring the winning penalty in the victory at Athersley Recreation, but that was the only goal of his short Tadcaster career.
Pickering boss Cook has also signed Ricky Nock.
