This week’s nominees are:
Scarborough Athletic – Rudy Funk’s team were trailing 1-0 to Halesowen with 17 minutes remaining when Peter Davidson equalised. Bryan Hughes then put Athletic ahead before Gary Bradshaw sealed the win with a penalty.
Albion Sports – Whilst Armthorpe Welfare are really struggling in the NCEL Premier Division, it still takes some effort to win 8-1. The Facey brothers were also the main men. Delroy scored twice, while Danny walked with the match-ball after grabbing a hat-trick. Alex Cusack, Lee McGowan and an own goal completed the rout.
Tadcaster Albion – Paul Marshall’s men were aiming to extend their unbeaten league run to 21 matches, but the record breaking run almost came to an end against strugglers Parkgate. Taddy were losing 3-2 as the game ticked into injury-time, but an incredible finale saw Josh Barrett and Mitch Hamilton score to ensure Albion won 4-3.
Glasshoughton Welfare – Down to ten men and losing 3-2 to Garforth Town deep into injury-time, all hope looked lost for Glasshoughton. However, Welfare kept believing and earned a stroke of fortunate when Russ Headley’s free kick deflected off Mitch Boland and into the Garforth net to level the game.
