Ossett Town celebrated a memorable 3-1 Doodson Sport Cup second round victory at Darlington 1883 – with striker Chris Wood between the sticks.
A goalkeeping crisis forced Craig Elliott to put Wood in goal and he was relatively untroubled. The game did start badly for Ossett as an Alan White gave Darlington an early lead.
However, club captain Ryan Qualter equalised on the stroke of half-time. Calum Ward then continued his recent good form with the second goal on 64 minutes.
Ward scored again 60 seconds later to take his tally to five goals in four games for Ossett.
Ossett host Prescot Cables on Saturday and Elliott hope his men can kick and record their first Evo Stik Division One North in five games.

Harrogate Town beat FC Halifax Town and they will play Ossett Albion after Richard Tracey’s men needed extra-time to win 3-1 against Albion Sports.
Sports forward Lee McGowan cancelled out Darol Lucas’ strike to take the game to another 30 minutes. Fortunately for Ossett, winger Ryan Harrison and Louie Francis popped up to see them through.
