Sam Dobbs is Ossett Town’s new goalkeeper.
Ossett boss Craig Elliott has been searching for a permanent replacement for Tom Taylor for a few weeks and has finally found his man.
Ilkeston goalkeeper Rob Peet was a temporary solution to the problem, but his loan deal expired last Saturday which left Ossett without a ‘keeper for Wednesday’s trip to Darlington 1883.
Elliott had to put striker Chris Wood between the sticks in a game that Ossett won 3-1.
Dobbs has been without a club for a couple of weeks after leaving Wakefield FC. He tweeted: “Pleased to have signed for @OssettTownAFC today, looking forward to a massive game at home to Prescot tomorrow.”
Dobbs previously played for Elliott during Glasshoughton Welfare’s promotion season in 2011-12 and has also had spells with Pontefract Collieries, Nostell Miners Welfare and Harrogate Railway.
Dobbs is expected to make his debut against Prescot Cables tomorrow as Ossett hope to record their first Evo Stik Division One North win in five games.
