Scarborough Athletic broke into the Evo Stik Division One South top ten with a 5-0 victory over Kidsgrove Athletic.
The win was Scarborough’s sixth straight league three points and Rudy Funk’s men turned on the style following a goal-less first half.
Scarborough broke the deadlock on 52 minutes when Gary Bradshaw supplied the ball to Ryan Blott who opened the scoring. The pair were in sizzling form and Bradshaw was the provider again for Blott’s second goal.
Bradshaw got on the score-sheet with two goals inside four minutes. Pete Davidson almost made the score 5-0 when he went clear on goal before Chris Bolder completed the rout in the closing stages.
Goole lost 2-0 at Romulas.
Ossett Town finally ended a five-match Division One North winless run by surviving an early scare to win 2-1 against Prescot Cables at Ingfield.
Steve Jeff was Ossett’s saviour with two penalties in a game that saw goalkeeper Sam Dobbs make his debut for Craig Elliott’s men.
Farsley AFC turned an early deficit around to beat Clitheroe 4-1 at Throstle Nest.
Aiden Savory cancelled out George Conway’s strike for Clitheroe and the scores were level until the 65th minute when Gibraltar International Adam Priestley put Farsley ahead.
Savory then scored again and with nine minutes remaining Danny Hull put the result beyond doubt.
David Bordman scored a late consolation as Wakefield FC lost 4-1 to Radcliffe Borough – a result that had a big impact on bottom-placed Ossett Albion.
Ossett were heavily beaten 4-0 at Bamber Bridge, but due to Radcliffe’s win at Wakefield, Albion are now six points adrift of safety.
Harrogate Railway lost 2-0 at Salford City.
In the Premier Division, Stocksbridge Park Steels needed a late goal in their must-win game at fellow strugglers Droylsden.
Stocksbridge won 3-2 through goals from Nathan Joynes, Brett Bowden-Lovell and Danny South in a match that Droylsden did lead at one point.
Gavin Allott’s penalty earned Frickley Athletic a point in the 1-1 draw with Stamford.
