Garforth Town have been denied the chance to record back-to-back Toolstation NCEL Premier Division wins tonight after the trip to Nostell Miners Welfare was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Graham Nicholas’s side were also hoping to cement their place in the top ten ahead of Christmas.
Nostell themselves are really struggling and look set to occupy bottom spot over the Christmas period. Darren Holmes’s side were battered 6-1 by Glasshoughton Welfare on Saturday.
Nostell have won just once in the league – against fellow whipping boys Lincoln Moorlands Railway in September. They recently won in the NCEL League Cup, but their opponents Staveley did go down to nine men after two sendings off.
It is the first postponement because of the weather that Garforth have suffered this season and they entertain Pickering Town this coming Saturday at Wheatley Park.
