Highly-rated left-back Liam Schofield has left AFC Emley and joined Ossett Albion.
Schofield has always turned down interest from other clubs to stay at the Welfare Ground, but the lure of Evo Stik Division One North football and helping them stage the great escape has proved too much.
Schofield actually scored the equaliser for Emley in his last appearance in the 2-2 draw with Yorkshire Amateur.
Emley manager Darren Hepworth tweeted: “Wishing @LiamSchofield1 the very best of luck at @OssettAlbion – top lad with fantastic potential!! #goodluck @AFC_Emley.”
Ossett Town have also promised that new faces will be in their squad for the trip to Farsley AFC tomorrow.
A budget cut last week saw Luke Sharry depart to Droylsden, while captain Ryan Qualter joined Bradford (Park Avenue) in a move unrelated to the cut.
UPDATE: Ossett winger Fernando Moke has joined Frickley Athletic this afternoon to become the third player to leave since the budget cut.
Tadcaster Albion have re-signed goalkeeper Arran Reid from Selby Town.
Reid replaces Leon Wrigglesworth who has now left the Ings Lane outfit.
