Journey-man defender Karl Colley has been sacked by Goole after throwing a punch at a Coalville Town supporter in this afternoon’s Evo Stik Division One South encounter.
Colley, who was also Goole’s captain, was sent off after committing a bad challenge on Coalville’s Cam Stuart.
Colley was then filmed confronting the Coalville fans whilst being held back before the attempted punch.
Colley was once on the books at Newcastle United and he has played for a wide variety of clubs over the years including Sheffield FC, Barrow, Belper Town and Bradford Park Avenue, among others.
He was sacked by Belper in 2013 for allegedly punching a team-mate in training.
The tall defender was also given the boot from Bradford in September 2004 by manager Carl Shutt. Colley, then playing as a striker, had been given some stick by the Avenue fans during the first half of a crucial bottom of the table clash with Vauxhall Motors.
In the dressing rooms at half-time, Colley refused to come out for the second half and was shown the door.
