Gary Bradshaw scored an incredible nine minute hat-trick as Scarborough Athletic secured a late 3-0 Evo Stik Division One South victory over Carlton Town.
On a day wrecked by the heavy rain, Scarborough were one of six Yorkshire sides to play in the whole of the Evo Stik and NCEL leagues.
After a poor start, Scarborough eventually got a foothold on the game when they were awarded a penalty on 68 minutes.
Peter Davidson was brought down by Carlton captain Martin Ball and the Seadogs leading goal-scorer sent the goalkeeper the wrong way for the spot kick.
Substitute Liam Shepherd then supplied Bradshaw for his second goal. Bradshaw completed his second hat-trick of the season shortly after to round off an unlikely heavy win.
There was some bad news for Scarborough fans as Rudy Funk has confirmed that Tom Davie has left the club.
Goole drew 0-0 with second-placed Halesowen Town.
Rossington Main ended Pontefract Collieries’ 17 game unbeaten run by extending their own to nine with a 3-2 win over the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division promotion contenders.
Lee Holmes, Steve Etherington and Shaun Pendleton scored for Rossington.
Hall Road Rangers lost 6-1 at Cleethorpes Town.
Tadcaster Albion are five points clear at the top of the Premier Division after Calum Ward’s late winner secured them a 2-1 win at Maltby Main.
Carl Stewart had given them the lead before Maltby equalised close to half-time.
Brighouse Town and AFC Emley also met in a friendly match at Batley Sports and Tennis Club.
Brighouse won 2-1.
