Chris Ovington was sent off on his Ossett Town debut – hours after signing

Hours after becoming John Reed’s first signing as Ossett Town manager, Chris Ovington was sent off on his debut.
Ovington joined from Stocksbridge Park Steels and appeared as a substitute in Ossett’s 2-2 draw at Ramsbottom United.
Ovington was dismissed during injury-time and was the second Ossett player to be sent off in the game – Jack Wakefield had been red carded earlier.
The former Leeds United youngster Ovington has followed Reed around during his player career having been at Buxton and Goole under the new Ossett manager.
Ovington has also played for FC United of Manchester, Farsley and Garforth Town.
Reed has also made Steven Jeff, who stood in as interim boss last week, his captain for the rest of the season.
Jeff immediately repaid Reed by scoring a penalty in the stalemate and supplying the assist for Shaun Connor’s goal.
