Nine man Ossett Town managed to draw 2-2 at Evo Stik Division One North play-offs rivals Ramsbottom United in John Reed’s first game in charge.
Phil Dean gave Ramsbottom an early lead before Shaun Connor equalised for Ossett from new captain Steven Jeff’s free kick.
Jimmy Eyles was then fouled in the penalty area and Jeff stepped up to score the spot kick.
Danny Warrender brought the home side level before referee Anthony Moore courted controversy with two disputed red cards in the last 20 minutes of the match.
Jack Wakefield was the first player to make an early exit after being given a straight red card for a foul. New signing Chris Ovington, who had appeared as a substitute, was sent off during injury-time for a two-footed lunge.
Both dismissals were described as harsh by Reed.
Kelvin Mathe salvaged a point for Ossett Albion with a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Prescot Cables.
Farsley AFC were beaten 4-0 by Skelmersdale United in the Doodson Sport Cup quarter-finals.
Frickley Athletic are through to the semi-finals after beating Loughborough Dynamo 2-0 – Joe Wilcox and Andy Villerman the goal-scorers.
In the Toolstation NCEL Division One promotion race, Craig Elliott’s new look Shaw Lane Aquaforce thrashed Teversal 7-2.
Danny Barlow, Danny Patterson, Danny Frost, Shane Kelsey, James Burgess (2) and Paul Haigh were on the score-sheet.
In the Premier, Danny Nadiole scored a hat-trick to lead Brighouse Town to a 4-0 win over Parkgate. Adam Wilson was the other scorer.
Albion Sports lost 2-0 to Worksop Parramore and Bridlington Town drew 1-1 at Long Eaton United. Joel Sutton got Bridlington’s goal.
In the League Cup, Simon Poole and Darren Rushton’s goals secured Nostell a 2-1 victory over Selby Town.
Pickering Town beat Dronfield 4-2 and Eccleshill United won 2-1 against Tadcaster Albion – Carl Stewart was on the score-sheet for Taddy.
