Gareth Grant has left Pontefract and joined Frickley
Frickley Athletic have confirmed the signings of Gareth Grant and Jack Wakefield.
Experienced striker Gareth Grant joins from Pontefract Collieries at the end of a week which saw Ponte’s NCEL Division One promotion hopes faded.
Grant had been playing for Pontefract since November after leaving Ossett Town.
The forward is best known for his long stint at Farsley Celtic/AFC where he helped the club reach the Blue Square Premier and then helped lead it’s renaissance from the NCEL.
Grant can play tomorrow at Nantwich Town for the Evo Stik Premier Division, but Wakefield has to wait until the 5th April to make his debut.
Wakefield asked to be released from Ossett this week, but he will start a three match suspension from tomorrow and that will delay his start to life at Frickley.
