Farsley manager Neil Parsley believes there will be more twists and turns in the race for the play-offs
Farsley AFC manager Neil Parsley believes there will be plenty of “twists and turns” to come as the race of the Evo Stik Division One North play-offs heads into its final month.
Two defeats in three games have knocked Farsley out of their stride and if rivals Ramsbottom United beat them tomorrow then the Villagers could drop out of the top five for the first time since mid-November.
Until the Kendal Town defeat three weeks ago, Parsley’s men had put together an unbeaten run of 14 league matches.
The likes of Ramsbottom, Lancaster City and Bamber Bridge have now caught up and Parsley admits that the race for the top five is too tight to call.
Farsley also have to face Ramsbottom again along with Curzon, Darlington and Lancaster in their last seven games after tomorrow.
“You can’t predict results,” he said.
“We went to Warrington and gave an accomplished performance and could have come away with three.
“We go to Ramsbottom tomorrow and it is a massive game, but if you at our first four fixtures in April they’re against sides in and around us.
“It is going to make it interesting, put it that way.
“The unbeaten run has given us a chance and we still have a chance. To lose two league games in 20 is half-decent.
“(The play-offs) aren’t going to be sorted tomorrow. If somebody does win, the other side are not out of it. If it is a draw, other sides like Bamber Bridge and Lancaster will look at that and look to capitalise.
“There are going to be a lot of twists and turns. Sides are going to drop points and I think it is going to be about who holds their nerve.
“We have certainly got to do it the hard way, I acknowledge that, because we have got to play all the sides in and around us.
“I do think it (the race will go to the last couple of games), but we’re looking forward to it.”
It is Farsley’s turn to travel Ramsbottom tomorrow and although it is a tough place to visit, Parsley says getting a win is not impossible.
“Ramsbottom were one of the fancied sides at the start of the season,” he said.
“They had a poor start, but they have got into their stride. I know Cammell Laird went there and won and Ossett Town got a point there.
“It shows it can be done.”
