The paint is dry, they have enough seats and the new toilet block and turnstile are finished so as far as Tadcaster Albion are concerned they’ve done everything required.
Evo Stik league officials will visit Ings Lane today and the club’s manager Paul Marshall is confident that they will pass the ground grading inspection.
The team are doing their bit by topping the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division table and the club believe their ground will be given the go-ahead for a possible historic promotion next month.
Marshall said: “If this ground doesn’t pass after what they (i2i Sports) have been doing then I don’t know what will.
“It should pass quite comfortably. They’re decorated, put all the boards up over the far side and put the new toilets and turnstiles in. We have also improved the seating areas.
“We should pass. I don’t see what is wrong with it when you look at some clubs in the Evo Stik and they’re not as good as this ground is now and this ground only going to get better.
“It is not going to get any worse because they (i2i Sports) are going to keep improving it.
“I don’t any problems with it because we have done what they have asked us to do.”
Tadcaster’s owners i2i Sports have overseen the improvements to Ings Lane since taking charge in November to ensure that a possible promotion is not denied by the wrong ground grading.
The owners enjoyed one of their best moments of their short reign on Saturday when 522 people turned out to see Tadcaster beat local rivals Pickering Town 5-0.
The attendance is the club’s record league crowd and Marshall added: “It is brilliant to see such a vibrant club. (Owners) i2i Sports have just been brilliant since they have come in.
“They have turned it around and whatever they seem to say they do.”
