Ossett Town pulled off another brilliant victory at one of the Evo Stik Division One North big boys by winning 1-0 at third-placed Warrington.
Bradley Kilburn’s second half strike earned Ossett a win that keeps them on course to finish in the top ten.
The success is even more remarkable given the fact that Ossett arrived late due to delays on the motorway which forced an eight o’clock kick off.
The first turning point in the game was on the half hour when Warrington’s Richard Wright was dismissed for a bad challenge on Ossett’s new signing Louis Horne.
It wasn’t until midway through the second half that Ossett got their goal. Marauding right-back Kilburn’s curling shot found the far post and it was all that John Reed’s side needed.
Warrington pushed for an equaliser, but goalkeeper Sam Dobbs stood firm to keep a third consecutive clean sheet – the first time Town have recorded the feat for four seasons.
Ten man Wakefield FC were beaten 5-1 at Darlington 1883.
