Harrogate Railway boss Billy Miller wants to delay Evo Stik Division One North champions-elect Curzon Ashton’s celebrations

Harrogate Railway manager Billy Miller wants to “prolong” Curzon Ashton’s wait to be crowned champions of the Evo Stik Division One North tomorrow night (kick off 7.45pm).
Curzon can secure the title at Station View if they beat Harrogate.
The Manchester-based side have won 11 out of their 12 league matches and haven’t conceded in the previous nine – a record stretching back to February 22nd.
John Flanagan’s men have also only lost twice in the league all season – bizarrely both times against Ossett Town and Curzon are 11 points clear of second-placed Darlington 1883.
However, Harrogate chief Miller is aiming to take at least a point to delay Curzon’s celebrations for another few days.
“If you remember last season, the two sides that went up, Trafford and Skelmersdale, we beat them both so what a scalp that would be to stop their party,” he told Sports Performer.
“We’ll only prolong it because I do think they’ll win it.
“It’s phenomenal for us, what an opportunity for us.
“We gave a really account of ourselves at their place a few weeks ago.
“They’re flying at the moment. If they win the league tomorrow they haven’t won it because they beat us tomorrow night, they will have won it because they have been the most consistent side in this league.
“To lose only twice is phenomenal. Curzon will be worthy champions.
“We’re not going to turn up to make the numbers and we’ll set our stall out to give a good account of themselves.”
Miller is also hoping to see a large attendance at Station View to see the eagerly-anticipated match.
“There should be a good crowd,” he said.
“Crowds are a struggle in North Yorkshire and we do need to get the crowds up, we’re aware of that.
“But, tomorrow night, if they can win the league I think there’ll be a big turnout.”
