Ossett Albion gave themselves a chance of overhauling Wakefield FC in the final two games of the season and finishing off the bottom of the Division One North table.
Although the league have said that Cammell Laird and Wakefield will fulfil the relegation spots after their resignations, it is understood that the FA have stipulated that the bottom club will relegated regardless of events elsewhere.
It appears that Albion would need to finish second bottom to gain a reprieve.
Richard Tracey’s men beat Wakefield 2-0 at Dimple Wells to move one point behind Wakefield – Caldon Henson and Ryan Harrison scored.
Farsley AFC’s play-offs hopes are back in the balance after they were beaten 3-0 at Darlington 1883.
Farsley will face Harrogate Railway tomorrow at Throstle Nest and Railway go into the game in buoyant mood after beating Cammell Laird 4-1.
Louie Swain, Steve Bromley, Nathan Cartman and a spectacular Fatlum Ibrahimi strike secured the win.
Chris Wood was the hero for Ossett Town as the striker scored a late winner in their 2-1 victory at Mossley.
Steven Jeff had given Ossett an early lead before former Farsley man Lewis Nightingale equalised. Wood then forced the winner.
