Brighouse Town manager Paul Quinn has pledged to keep the faith in his title-winning players for next season’s first ever campaign in the Evo Stik Division One North.
Brighouse clinched the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title on Saturday after beating Retford United and Quinn’s men will be playing alongside of the likes of Northwich Victoria and Farsley AFC in August.
Quinn is confident his side will acclimatise to the level above and he will give the ones who got them there a chance to show what they can do in the Evo Stik.
“I’ve watched about 12 Evo Stik games because we have always been preparing a team to play in the Evo Stik,” he said.
“We haven’t been preparing a team to win the Northern Counties. We have always been looking one step ahead.
“We have to assess. The lads deserve an opportunity at that level. Ultimately we have to go up and be competitive and we are going to need a couple of additions from what I have seen.
“I can’t name them obviously, but we do have a target list that we have put together. The main priority is that we want to retain as many of our players as we can.
“The step-up is going to be difficult. We’re going up there as massive underdogs which is great.
“We will have nothing to lose because the expectations of us will be low. Anybody who thinks we are going up to be rubbing rags is wrong because it is not going to happen.”
