Top defender Paddy Miller has left Farsley AFC and joined Conference North side Bradford (Park Avenue).
Miller recently won Farsley’s supporters’ player of the year award after a fine campaign at Throstle Nest.
Miller had moved from Scarborough Athletic to Farsley as a left-sided player last summer, but due to centre-half problems in pre-season, the 24-year-old had to play in front of his goalkeeper.
His performances in that position were revelation and he was arguably one of the best players in the region – something that obviously attracted Avenue manager John Deacey.
Miller, who has also played for Yorkshire Amateur, told Avenue’s official website: “I’m looking forward to the challenge of stepping up to this level with Bradford (Park Avenue). I’m 24 and I feel I’m at the right age to make the move up to this league.
“After speaking with the manager, I’m excited by his philosophy of playing football because it’s enjoyable and it’s what I’ve been used to at previous clubs.
“I’ve come here to be successful, both individually and as a team. The club is established after spending two years in this league, but I’m ambitious, I’ve not joined to finish mid-table. I’m sure we’ll have targets and hopefully we can push to get into the playoffs.”
