Toolstation NCEL Division One Knaresborough Town have signed Glasshoughton Welfare’s highly-rated goalkeeper Paul Hagreen.
The capture comes four days after it was revealed that Liam Tuck and Hilliard Serrao had left Leeds Road to move to Knaresborough.
Now Hagreen and also Joel Freeston have chosen to follow their old manager Rob Hunter, now Knaresborough’s assistant manager, to Manse Lane.
Hunter has always said that the over six foot goalkeeper is one of the “best young prospects in the NCEL” and Knaresborough have beaten off competition from Evo Stik clubs to sign him.
Hagreen was arguably Glasshoughton’s player of the season and his performance, described as “outstanding” against Tadcaster in April was the highlight of his campaign.
Knaresborough have also pulled off a coup by signing experienced defender Craig Radcliffe.
Radcliffe played for Harrogate Railway last season.
Radcliffe has played for Cambridge City and made 52 appearances for Harrogate Town between 2011 and 2012.
Quick striker Freeston struggled with injury at Glasshoughton last season and after injuring his foot last October, he missed the rest of the campaign.
He returns to Knaresborough having played for Brian Davey’s side during the 2012-13 campaign.
The final signing is Tom Robinson from Pontefract Collieries.
Knaresborough are hoping to mount a promotion push this season and they begin their pre-season schedule at Riccall United tomorrow night.
