Josh Greening was finally confirmed as a Tadcaster Albion player last night.
The Pickering Town forward signed for Taddy straight after the 3-0 defeat to Bradford (Park Avenue).
Paul Marshall said last week that Greening, the brother of former Premier League midfielder Jonathan, wanted to “join a progressive club” and he was persuaded to move to Ings Lane yesterday.
Marshall said last night: “He brings that added piece of quality – you saw tonight the two free kicks he put into the box which were exceptional.
“He’s able to break a defence down with his pace, trickery or movement. His movement is very good.
“We tried to sign him last season when he went to Pickering after leaving Scarborough.”
Marshall has decided against signing utility player Jason Mycoe.
The former Leeds United reserve team player returned to Ings Lane this summer to try out for Taddy once again.
He played in the FC Halifax Town defeat last week, but Marshall has chosen to let him leave.
Mycoe is joining either a West Yorkshire Evo Stik Division One North club or a team that challenged for the NCEL Premier Division alongside Taddy last season.
Nigel Corner is the new chairman of Harrogate Railway.
Corner, the club’s general manager, replaces Alan Smith.
Smith, who managed Harrogate Town for over 15 years and was the man who led them from the Yorkshire League Third Division to the old NPL Division One, announced his intention to retire last season.
Corner had been expected to be elected to replace him.
Goole AFC manager Curtis Woodhouse has raided his old club Sheffield FC and taken four of their players – including their prolific midfielder Andy Gascoigne.
Gascoigne hit 22 goals for Sheffield last season and even had a trial recently at Northampton Town.
He has chosen to join Goole along with defender Ben Turner, midfielders Callum Harrison and Steve Woolley and defender Dan Wilkinson.
