The Toolstation NCEL management board have the powers to issue further punishment to sent off managers who refuse to follow the new directive.
It was revealed on Non League Yorkshire yesterday that managers dismissed from the touchline in an NCEL game can no longer ‘sit in the stands’.
The rule also applies to assistant managers and coaches. Physios are exempt, but can still be reported for bad behaviour.
The person sent off has three options – either to go to their dressing room, sit in the social club or go home.
In the league rules, it also states that the person sent off can have no further contact with the referee during the game or after in the bar.
If a dismissed manager refuses to remove himself to one of the three places after being sent off during the game then the NCEL could take further action.
The West Riding County FA, one of seven County FAs who deal with misconduct in the NCEL, confirmed today that they will still only deal with the offence which led to a manager being sent off.
Any further breach relating to the new directive will be dealt with by the NCEL.
A West Riding spokesman said: “As a league directive, any further sanction would be done specifically by the league.
“The FA have the same powers regarding the removal of persons from the technical area for every league and therefore we would issue a standard misconduct.
“Any further punishment regarding this league directive will come from NCEL itself.”
