Craig Elliott has pulled off a coup by persuading highly rated striker Jimmy Eyles to join Toolstation NCEL Premier Division promotion-chasers Shaw Lane Lane Aquaforce.
Elliott believes Eyles will become an important player in the history of Aquaforce.
Eyles signed yesterday after returning from holiday and will be in the squad at Tadcaster Albion on Saturday for the big kick off.
The former Ossett Town and Nostell Miners Welfare star was set to go into the season without a club after two bad experiences, but Elliott managed to talk him round.
Elliott told Non League Yorkshire: “I’m ‘over the moon’ to get Jimmy.
“Going on his stats, he’s up there with some of the best goal-scorers in the Evo Stik.
“He’s scored a lot of goals and also did so in a struggling Nostell team.
“I’ve always had a good relationship with Jimmy.
“He’s not someone who wanted to drop divisions, but he has seen the ambition of the club and I’m sure he will be a massive part of the club by scoring the goals to take this club where it wants to go.
“Bradford Park Avenue messed him about (last season) and Curzon offered him something, but never phoned him back so Jimmy was down in the dumps.
“It’s my job to get his confidence back.”
