AFC Emley sent out a real statement of intent in Division One by spectacularly winning 8-1 at Grimsby Borough on the opening day of the Toolstation NCEL season.
Darren Hepworth told Non League Yorkshire he expected a tough test from an organised Grimsby side, but that was far from the case as Emley led 4-0 at half-time.
Max Leonard hit a hat-trick alongside strikes from Sam Jerome, Nathan Perks, Doran Jordan, Ruben Jerome and a rare goal from Michael Tunnacliffe.

Kingsley Wetherald, Andrew Catton and Tom Coppin earned Pontefract Collieries an easy 3-0 success over Winterton Rangers.
A Luke Thompson equaliser earned Hall Road Rangers a point at Rossington Main. Jordan Hatton got Rossington’s goal.
Brad Kerr scored, but Worsbrough Bridge lost 2-1 at Lincoln Moorlands Railway.
Yorkshire Amateur picked up a good point in their 0-0 draw at Bottesford Town.
Eccleshill United, without star striker Marcus Edwards lost 6-0 at home to Louth Town.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare drew 1-1 with Teversal.
Three of the fancied teams in the Premier Division set out their intentions with wins.

Liversedge began the season in a disastrous manner – by losing 6-2 at home to Cleethorpes Town.
Scott Driscoll and Kieron Corley scored for Liversedge in the first half before the score got out of hand.
Nostell lost 2-0 at Maltby Main.
Barton Town Old Boys lost 3-1 at home to Thackley, despite Sam Belcher’s goal.
Mike Garrod got two with Mark Trueman grabbing the other.
Armthorpe Welfare lost 3-2 to Worksop Town.
Connor Sellars, Matt Booth and Andre Johnson struck for Worksop, while Kieron Benson and Anthony Ryan were on target for Armthorpe.
Two goals in the last ten minutes earned Garforth Town a 3-1 success over Parkgate.
Dominic Hackney gave Garforth the lead before a Scott Lowe penalty drew the game level.
Then Luke Mangham struck twice at the death to win the game.
Injury-hit Athersley Recreation held Retford United to a 0-0 draw.
