Selby Town assistant manager Chris Dickinson believes his side can finish in the Toolstation NCEL Division One top ten

Selby Town are confident of finishing in the Toolstation NCEL Division One top, according to assistant manager Chris Dickinson.
Selby are hoping new manager Dave Ricardo and his assistant Dickinson can put Selby back on an even keel after four years of struggle.
The pair have enjoyed a positive start to their reign after winning their first three games before the defeat to Pontefract Collieries last week.
“Getting into the FA Vase is our first aim and our second aim is to get into the FA Cup which would be top six,” said Dickinson, who took charge of the Pontefract defeat last week.
“The aims are very achievable with the side we have got. With the quality we have got, I would be very surprised if we’re out of the top ten, if I’m being honest.
“We’ve had a good start.
“We have picked up six points before the Pontefract game. We won in the League Cup so we’re sat in a decent position.”
Since Bob Lyon’s 12-year tenure came to an end in 2011, Selby have gone through managers like hot dinners.
Eight managers have tried and failed to bring the glory days back to Selby, but Dickinson hopes that him and Ricardo can buck that trend.
“I’ve being part of the last few years at Selby as a player so there has been a lot of disappointment
“We haven’t had consistency with a manager.
“A manager hasn’t been given a massive opportunity.
“We have two young lads in myself and Dave and we’re trying to get a bit of stability back to the club and take it forward if we can.”
Selby host Rossington Main tomorrow afternoon at Flaxley Road.
