Weekend review: Late goals spare Ossett Albion FA Cup replay with Winterton Rangers

Ossett Albion made hard work of Toolstation NCEL Division One strugglers Winterton Rangers as Richard Tracey’s men scored three times in the final ten minutes to progress through FA Cup Preliminary Round.
David Brown got two alongside Dale Kelly’s opener to spare Ossett’s blushes and erase the prospect of a Tuesday night replay.
Ossett Town came from behind to win 5-1 at Stockport Sports.
After going behind early on, Ossett responded with goals from Chris Wood (2), Joe O’Neil (2) and Richard Patterson.
Strikes from Ernest Boafo, Tom Matthews and Ryan Hall earned Brighouse Town a 3-0 win at West Disbury & Chorlton.
Tadcaster Albion lost 2-0 at home to Spennymoor Town.
Scott Phillips gave Barton Town Old Boys an early lead, but Dave Anderson’s men lost 4-1 at Evo Stik Division One North promotion hopefuls Warrington Town.
Farsley AFC comfortably saw off Athersley Recreation by winning 4-1.
Lewis Nightingale, Robbie O’Brien, Aiden Savory and Adam Priestley struck for Farsley. Former Glasshoughton Welfare striker Lee Bennett scored for Athersley.
AFC Emley bowed out of the competition after losing 4-0 at Northwich Victoria.
Stocksbridge lost 2-0 at home to Bamber Bridge.
Ben Turner’s strike earned Goole a replay with Runcorn Town.
Harrogate Railway had to come from behind to beat Garforth Town 2-1.
Thanks to Curtly Martin-Wyatt’s early goal, Garforth led until the 78th minute when Nathan Cartman equalised and then Adam Baker won the game.
Handsworth Parramore lost 2-1 at higher league Carlton Town.
Bridlington Town are also through after beating Northallerton Town 3-0.
Bowing out are Knaresborough Town, Maltby Main and Armthorpe Welfare.
In the NCEL Premier Division, Liversedge drew 4-4 Nostell Miners Welfare.
Glasshoughton Welfare drew 1-1 at Parkgate and Shaw Lane Aquaforce won 3-1 at Thackley.
Pickering Town were on the end of another trouncing as they lost 5-0 at Worksop Town.
In Division One, Dave Mace celebrated a brilliant 2-0 win at Pontefract Collieries.
Brad Kerr and Mark Kokot got the goals.
The wheels look to have come off Shirebrook Town’s promotion aspirations as they lost 4-0 at Eccleshill – although the Americans are now back for the Bradford-based side.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare won 3-1 at Grimsby Borough, Penistone Church beat Hallam 3-1, Rossington Main were beaten 2-1 at Selby Town and Hall Road Rangers won 3-0 at Yorkshire Amateur.
