Garforth Town manager Graham Nicholas is urging his players to show their worth against Toolstation NCEL Premier Division promotion hopefuls Shaw Lane Aquaforce tomorrow.
Nicholas was disappointed with his side’s FA Cup exit last week and now wants to see them demonstrate the reasons why he signed them.
Nicholas said: “Shaw Lane are a local team, a Barnsley team, but, I’m not concentrating on them.
“We go into every cup and treat it like an FA Cup final and we’ll treat them with the same respect that we give any team.
“We have got to start learning that it is a 90 minute game.
“We have to improve in certain areas and the players have got to be honest and work harder.
“The players have to step up to the mark.
“I keep saying how good they are and what a good squad I have got and tomorrow is the time to prove it.
“I went to watch Shaw Lane last week so I have done my homework on them so they I know what they are all about and the tactics will reflect that tomorrow.
“They’re like us in many ways. They’re young fit lads and they’re very athletic and it will be a good battle.”
Garforth have won one, drawn one and lost one in their opening three league and Nicholas added: “Average start, it would have been nice to have six points out of the three games.
“Against Heanor Town we got outdone physically, but, we’ll look to put that right in the League Cup.”
