The victory at Knaresborough Town underlined the strength in depth at AFC Emley.
That’s the verdict of Darren Hepworth ahead of his side’s rescheduled Toolstation NCEL Division One encounter with Hall Road Rangers tomorrow.
Alex Hallam, a peripheral figure at the Welfare Ground so far this season, scored the winner at Knaresborough and Hepworth believes the victory shows his side’s qualities.
“It is important that we follow ip the Knaresborough win,” he said.
“Northwich was more of a day out, even though we went there with ambitions to win the game.
“Clipstone was disappointing, just in the manner we lost the game.
“We had a mad five minutes and it cost us.
“Against Knaresborough, we showed what this Emley side is about and I was pleased because we have a squad of 18 and some of the lads who played haven’t started much.
“That shows the strength we have got.
“I’d say in terms of performances and the feel of the squad that we are doing than we were at this stage last season.”
Emley were due to travel to Hall Road today, but the game was moved to tomorrow and to the Welfare Ground.
The match will kick off at 3pm and Hepworth added: “They’ll be clearly full of confidence going into the game, but so are we.
“I’ve absolute belief in my team as they’re capable of beating anyone on their day.”
