FA Cup second qualifying round
Gainsborough Trinity 4-1 Farsley AFC
The score-line may look resounding, but Farsley gave an excellent account of themselves at Conference North outfit Gainsborough.
Although Farsley were hit by a blitz of goals in the first half, Aiden Savory, Lewis Nightingale and captain Robbie O’Brien all had chances.
But strikes from former Harrogate Town and Guiseley midfielder Ciaran Toner, Liam Davis, Dominic Roma and Simon Russell put the tie out of Farsley’s reach.
A deflected free kick from Nightingale was Farsley’s deserved goal.
Farsley AFC: Taylor, Hardy, Serrant, O’Brien (captain), Riley, Harris, Nightingale, Daly, Edwards, Savory (Priestley), St Juste (Grant). Subs unused: Lofthouse, Dempsey, Hewitt.

Stocksbridge Park Steels 1-2 Romulas
A second half penalty by Nathan Joynes ended Steels scoring jinx but wasn’t enough to stop Steels falling to a 4th defeat in a row at home to Romulus.
Steels had the most of the possession in the first half and should have took the lead after a neat exchange put in Scott Turner who shot straight at the keeper at point blank range.
Romulus looked dangerous on the counter and the visitors took the lead after twenty minutes when Lee Smith was allowed to head in from a corner.
Steels were struggling to create chances and soon found themselves 2 behind after the break.
As Steels pressed forward for an early equaliser, a simple ball over the top found the run of Rikardo Reid who chipped over the onrushing Flynn for the visitors second goal.
Steels still struggled to create a clear chance but were rewarded a lifeline ten minutes from time when Lever was brought down inside the box after a good run down the left hand side.
Joynes converted the penalty to end Steels goalless run and Ryan Laight heading onto the bar late on it proved too little, too late.
Stocksbridge Park Steels: Flynn, Scully (Lever 71), Schofield, Biggins, Laight (captain), B Turner, S Turner (Garside 64), Callery, Thompson, Joynes, White (Dyer-Stewart 78).
