Frickley’s recent unbeaten run under Karl Rose came to an end

Premier Division

Frickley Athletic 0-2 Stamford

Second half goals from Jordan Smith and Shawn Richards saw Stamford end Frickley’s unbeaten run.
The home side had the opportunity to move into the play-off places with a win, but a dogged display by the visitors ensured The Blues suffered their first defeat in five.
With hitman Gavin Allott failing a fitness test moments before the match, it was always going to be a tough afternoon, but Karl Rose’s side started well.
In an increasingly ill-tempered game, Sanchez Payne was stretchered off moments before the break with suspected knee ligament damage after a strong challenge.
Three minutes into the second half, Stamford seized the initiative. Nabil Shariff held off Jameel Ible, before squaring to Smith who tapped home from a yard out.
Athletic pressed for the equaliser going into the final 15 minutes, but the game was taken away from them when Shawn Richards made space for himself in the box, and sent a low strike past Simpson’s dive to wrap up the points.

Frickley Athletic: Simpson, Parkinson, Jeffs, S Harrison, Cyrus, Ible, Riley, Young, South, Barnett (K Harrison), Payne (Williams 42). Subs unused: Dean, Davies, Hood

Radcliffe Borough 1-4 Farsley AFC

Farsley broke Radcliffe’s previously unbeaten home record with a straight forward win.
Farsley were in front in the 14th minute through central defender Spencer Harris.
On 39 minutes Farsley did get the second that they deserved. Another Lewis Nightingale corner from the right was flicked on by James Riley and the ball found Adam Priestley who poked the ball home.
Radcliffe got back into the game early in the second half when they were given a dubious penalty and Danny White stepped up to hit the spot kick home on 55 minutes.
Farsley were quick to re-establish the two goal advantage. Marcus Edwards held his line and ran through on goal. Cheetham made the initial save but the ball found its way to Robbie O’Brien who scored. Only a minute later the game was pretty much put beyond doubt when Edwards ran through again and squared for Savory to tap into the empty net.

Scarborough Athletic 2-0 Ossett Albion

Albion lost this game as they failed to take advantage of the chances created in the first 30 minutes. David Brown wasted two glorious opportunities when he beat the off-side trap twice but lacked the confidence to beat White in the Scarborough goal.
Wes Milnes also missed a golden opportunity to give Albion the lead but headed over from six yards with the Scarborough goal at his mercy.
Inevitably the home side scored with their first real chance when just before the half-time whistle Henry Owen was penalised for handling in attempting to block a Scarborough shot. He was harshly penalised and booked. Jimmy Beadle converted the spot-kick and almost immediately the referee blew for half-time.
Albion were unlucky to be behind at the interval having been the better side for much of the half.
Seven minutes into the second half the home side scored when Ryan Blott took advantage of Albion’s failure to clear their lines and he fired home from close range.
