Mick Wadsworth has resigned as manager of Sheffield FC – 24 hours before his assistant Jordan Broadbent guided them back to winning ways.
Broadbent was in caretaker charge for Sheffield’s 2-1 win over Evo Stik Division One South basement side Kidsgrove Athletic.
Former Newcastle United assistant manager Wadsworth resigned on Monday afternoon after less than six months in charge.
Club chairman Richard Tims said: “Mick has resigned for personal reasons. We didn’t want him to go and tried to see if there was anything we could do. We were aware he had some personal issues and had recently given him some time away from the club.
“We have a management team at the club so it’s business as usual at the moment. Jordan has already shown he is very capable and he will have the help of Ian Whitehorne and director of football Paul Rogers.”
