Lewis Nightingale scored a dramatic injury-time winner for Farsley AFC

Farsley AFC 2-1 Prescot Cables

Lewis Nightingale fired home an incredible injury-time winner for Farsley – minutes after Neil Parsley’s men appeared to be on the brink of a third straight league defeat.
Farsley were behind to a first half Jack Phillips and Prescot were holding on until a late rally.
Matt Dempsey supplied the cross for Spencer Harris to equalise.
Nightingale then popped up with the winner.

Taylor, Harrison, Serrant (Riley), O’Brien, Dempsey, Harris, Nightingale, Daly, Morgan (Priestley), Savory, Porritt (Hancock). Sub unused: Lofthouse.

Ossett Albion 2-1 Padiham

A goal in each half from new Ossett Albion star Rob Bordman sealed the points in a win over bottom of the table Padiham.

The first half was not the best 45 minutes of football. It was a little short on quality and apart from the 2 goals. The first by Bordman for the home side in the 9th minute when his fierce shot took a deflection off a Padiham defender to give the home side the lead. The equaliser in the 32nd came when the experienced Brett Ormerod produced a sweet chip to beat Neil Bennett. There was little to enthuse about though, Padiham’s James Jenkins rolled the ball wide of an open goal when it seemed easier to score and both sides hit the bar.

The introduction of substitute Adam Jones saw an improvement in the entertainment value and on 62 minutes Albion deservedly scored their second through Bordman who turned his defender well and smashed an unstoppable shot past Marcus Burgess in the Padiham goal. The game was end to end at this point and Albion stopper Bennett had to be at this best to save Ben Allen’s well hit shot whilst at the other end Bordman was a persistent thorn in the Padiham defence and had a reasonable shout for a penalty turned down and was booked for continuing his protest.

As the game became more open towards the end of the 90 minutes both defences had to be alert to clear from Albion’s Bordman and Padiham’s Ben Allen. In the the end the home team’s sharper all round play saw them home.

Ossett Albion: Bennett, Lucas, Hardaker, Nicholson, Milnes, Trice, Reece, Walker(Jones), Brunt (Rothel), Bordman, Grech-Brooksbank (Muller). Subs unused : Matthews, Thompson.

Burscough 3-1 Ossett Town

Ossett were out of sight at half-time as Burscough gave departing manager Derek Goulding the perfect send-off.
Mark Beesley opened the scoring after 18 minutes and just five minutes later Will Jones curled an effort into the top corner from the edge of the area.
The Reds changed to a more attacking formation and it paid off as Connor Bower drove into the area, he looked to flick the ball across which was stopped by a Burscough hand. The referee pointed to the spot.
The home side can count themselves unlucky as most in the ground felt it was more ball to hand. The home side protested too much, picking up two bookings before Steven Jeff was able to step up and drive the spot kick home.
The Reds looked to take advantage of the lifeline, Calum Hepworth particularly dangerous down the right. Burscough got a stroke of luck themselves on 37 minutes. Brad Dixon blocked one effort, there was then two further headers cleared off the Town line before the ball fell to Nick Ryan who was able to force home to end the games scoring.

Ossett Town: Dixon, Akeister (Whiteley 45), Jeff (captain), Wood, Allott, D Patterson, Hepworth, R Patterson, Wood, Bower (Ovington 45), Armstrong. Subs unused: Merris, Pashley, Davies.

Scarborough Athletic 1-2 Northwich Victoria

Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot’s reign as joint managers of Scarborough began in the wrong way.
It started so well for the Seadogs, who took the lead through Gary Bradshaw.
But two second half goals won the game for play-offs rivals Northwich.

Evo Stik Division One South

Stocksbridge Park Steels 1-1 Coalville Town

A late Lee Garside goal earned Stocksbridge a point against Coalville.
Bradley Munn put Coalville ahead on the stroke of half-time, but the Steels deserved their equaliser.
New Steels captain Garside was the hero with a header.

Goole AFC 2-1 Chasetown

Goole staged a tremendous second half response to take all the points.
A good first half display from Chasetown saw them lead through Richard Davies.
But Goole hit back with Billy Law and Andy Gascoigne ensured the three points came to Yorkshire.
