Big changes have taken place at Nostell Miners Welfare with former Wakefield FC duo Simon Turfrey and Paul Lines arriving at Crofton.
Turfrey takes over as chairman after answering the club’s recent call for help and has handed Lines the manager’s reigns after Darren Holmes’ departure on Saturday.
Lines, who has also managed Yorkshire Amateur and Ossett Town, was left without a club after Wakefield folded in June.
He had worked miracles at Wakefield during his three years there – keeping them in the Evo Stik Division One North with no budget and has since waited patiently to return.
Long-serving chairman Granville Marshall still remains the club’s secretary.
A statement from the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side said: “Nostell Miners Welfare Football Club are pleased to announce that Paul Lines has been appointed 1st team manager.
“Simon Turfrey has also joined the club and will take over the roll of club chairman.
Paul & Simon have worked together at Ossett Town and Wakefield  FC and offer a wealth of experience at Northern Premier League level.
“The pair answered Nostell’s recent cry for help on and off the field and hope to turn around the fortune’s of the club who have struggled in the Northern Counties East Premier Division since lifting the president’s Cup back in 2009.”
