Harrogate Railway pulled off the result of the day with a remarkable 4-1 win at Evo Stik Division One North title favourites Salford City.
Red hot Nathan Cartman was again the main hero with a sensational hat-trick which further cements his place at the top of the goal-scorers list.
Salford, whose takeover by the Class’ of ’92 and billionaire Peter Lim was confirmed this week, were blew away in the first half by Railway.
Malachi Farquharson gave Railway the lead and Cartman had ensured that the visitors were 3-0 up by the half-hour mark.
Cartman completed his treble early in the second half and Salford’s goal came from a last minute consolation.
Ossett Town ended a poor run with a 2-1 win at home to Lancaster City – Chris Wood hit the winner from the penalty spot in the last minute.
Farsley AFC comfortably beat Ossett Albion 4-0. A Lewis Trice own goal handed Farsley the lead before second half goals from Aiden Savory and Robbie O’Brien sealed the points.
A late own goal from Albion’s player/chairman Dom Riordan made the result heavier.
Brighouse Town won 3-2 at Mossley – Ernest Boafo (2) and Ryan Hall scoring. Scarborough Athletic won 3-0 at Radcliffe Borough.
In the south, Stocksbridge lost at Carlton Town and Frickley were beaten by Ashton in the Premier.
Worksop Town won the battle of Sandy Lane – beating landlords Handsworth Parramore 2-0 in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
Tadcaster Albion secured their seventh consecutive league win – winning 2-1 against Albion Sports.
Nine points behind in second place, Shaw Lane Aquaforce won 3-1 at Bridlington Town.
Parkgate drew 4-4 with Barton Town Old Boys, Thackley won 1-0 at Retford United, while Garforth Town were 1-0 winners over Athersley Rec.
Glasshoughton were thrashed 5-0 Heanor Town and Armthorpe Welfare secured a big 2-1 win at Nostell Miners Welfare.
In Division One, Rudy Funk’s new era at AFC Mansfield began with a defeat as Penistone Church won 4-3.
Knaresborough Town were 2-1 victors at Rossington Main and Worsbrough Bridge and Yorkshire Amateur drew 1-1.
