Paul Quinn says that Brighouse Town are plotting to push themselves further up the Evo Stik Division One North table.
After a tricky October period, Brighouse are unbeaten in November as Ossett Town prepare to visit the Dual Seal Stadium.
Two draws, to Harrogate Railway and Ossett Albion, opened the month and Brighouse have since enjoyed a three match winning run.
Quinn, who believes his side have coped with the step-up from the NCEL, wants his side to build on their form to stay on course to meet targets.
“It is another big game and because we are on a good run, we want to keep the run going,” he told Non League Yorkshire.
“We are at home again and we want to reap on home advantage.
“We have a good run going now and a bit of momentum so if we can build on that tomorrow then that will be great.
“We have set ourselves a target of finishing with x amount of points before the end of the year, I won’t tell you how many.
“We’re closing in on that and there is a good buzz about the place. Since the draw at Harrogate and the win at Mossley, the lads are really brimming with confidence and it is good to see.
“It has taken us a little bit of time to find our feet because we have been a bit up and down.
“We want to get the consistency now and get ourselves to where we think we can finish.
“We have adapted well and it can be a fickle game because you lose a couple of games and people question whether we’re up to it at this level.
“I think we are showing now that we can compete at this level and what we have to do now is push on and the only direction we are looking is up.
“Maybe five or six weeks ago, people were looking around thinking have they got enough to pull away from the bottom two.
“We are looking up and we want to get as close as we can to the top ten as we possibly can.”
On the visit of Ossett, he said: “We played them at home (in the FA Trophy) so we know we will face a physical battle.
“We thought they were a physical side and we have to learn from that defeat in the Trophy.
“They obviously will be hurting after Saturday’s result (a 4-0 defeat at Harrogate Railway) so we’re not taking anything for granted.
“We have to be on the money again and make sure we get the performance levels right. It is a massive game for us, we want to get another three points on the board.”
Quinn kept faith in his Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title-winning squad and the likes of Ryan Hall and Tom Matthews have made light work of the step-up.
However, Brighouse have parted ways with one of their main heroes of last season – Danny Nadiole.
Quinn said: “The conversation I had with Danny was that clubs and players grow apart for whatever reasons and it has got to that stage with Danny.
“He has been a fantastic servant to the club and he is a good talented player and I’m sure he’ll go onto play at a good level for someone else.
“Sometimes the player and the club have to go their separate ways and it was completely amicable.
“Me and Danny will remain friends and I can’t speak highly enough of what he has done for the club.”
Stocksbridge goalkeeper Sam Andrew has arrived in recent weeks to compete with Jacob Giles and Quinn has also added veteran striker Jamie Clarke.
Former Darlington striker Clarke won the Veterans World Cup with England during the summer and Brighouse were recommended to him as a potential club to sign for by Mark Brady.
Clarke, who lives in Middlesbrough, but works in Manchester, made his debut against Stocksbridge in the Doodson Sport Cup and Quinn said: “He has played a lot in the Northern League and at this stage I’m not sure what we will get out of him.
“He’s a Jason Price-type player and we want him around the club to give us that type of experience.
“Mark Brady, who was our first team coach for quite a bit of time, was in Thailand playing for the England veterans team and he was talking to Jamie.
“Jamie had just hung his boots and he said he had a little more to give and Mark said there was a young side who he could help out.
“From what we saw of him, he can add to us with his experience which will be invaluable.”
