Craig Elliott will make his first competitive return to struggling Glasshoughton Welfare since his greatest triumph tomorrow.
Elliott will take Shaw Lane Aquaforce to the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division bottom-placed side as he looks to close the gap on leaders Tadcaster Albion.
Glasshoughton had endured several awful years until Elliott arrived to lift them out of the doldrums to become the most successful manager in their history.
Elliott pulled together a team of local players and guided Welfare back to the Premier Division after a dramatic last day 3-2 win at AFC Emley in 2012.
“I’m really looking forward to it as it is the club who set me off in management,” he said.
“I have some great memories from being there from winning the Wilkinson Sword Trophy in the first season to getting promoted in the second with limited money.
“There is some really people behind the scenes there and they had been through a really bad period so it was nice to put smiles back on people’s faces.
“I hope they can get out of relegation trouble.”
Elliott is likely to have one new face in his Shaw Lane side tomorrow as he has swooped to sign Buxton captain Steve Istead.
