Farsley AFC kept the heat on the Evo Stik Division One North top five with a 2-1 victory over fellow play-offs chasers Droylsden.
Farsley are sixth, a point off the play-offs, heading into the festive fixtures with two games in hand of fifth-placed Scarborough Athletic.
Although they had to come from behind to put old foes Droylsden to the sword.
Both clubs have tumbled down the football pyramid together – only seven years ago, the game was classed as a Conference Premier fixture with national interest.
Droylsden went ahead with a header from Kieron Kenny close to half-time.
Farsley then had to ride out an early Droylsden storm in the second half. Goalkeeper Tom Taylor recovered from a fumble to deny winger Adam Morning from increasing Droylsden’s lead.
Morning’s fellow former Bradford (Park Avenue) team-mate Ali Brown then provided the route to victory for Farsley.
Defender Brown sent Farsley captain Robbie O’Brien’s pass into his own net for the equaliser.
Farsley got the winner with ten minutes remaining. Aiden Savory rounded the advancing Droylsden goalkeeper Russell Saunders and planted the ball into the empty net.
