Yorkshire Amateur are well-placed to achieve their goals for the season, according to head coach Rick Addy.
Addy and manager Phil Harding have masterminded a total renaissance of perennial strugglers Ammers’ fortunes in the Toolstation NCEL Division One.
Ammers have done the double over leaders AFC Emley as well beating Pontefract Collieries and are already past last season’s total of 38 points.
“I’m pleased about it (surpassing last season’s points total) and I wanted to do it before Christmas and we’ve done it,” he told Non League Yorkshire.
“We’ve put our ourselves into a fighting position to be in the top ten which is what our targets were initially.
“We got ourselves into the top five and we were only eight or nine points behind second, but our form in the last month – four points out of 12 put it into perspective.
“However, we proved on Saturday (at Emley) that we can match anybody.
“I think the target for the New Year is to cement a top ten ten place. We want to get an FA Cup place, without a doubt.
“Anything above that will be a bonus for this year.
“A top ten finish would be a great achievement and we have already matched last year’s tally already.
“That’s a great achievement itself. We have no budget. The pitch is looking great so things are looking great off-the-pitch and we’re aiming for next year already.”
