Paul Quinn expects Brighouse Town to be fully charged for the trip to Radcliffe
Paul Quinn is confident that Brighouse Town will be fully charged for the trip to Radcliffe Borough tomorrow after a two week break from Evo Stik Division One North action.
A waterlogged pitch forced the postponement of their home clash with Lancaster City on Saturday and Quinn believes it will have helped his side.
Brighouse were last in action at Darlington 1883 where they lost 2-0, despite a good performance.
Quinn now expects his side to kick on at strugglers Radcliffe.
He told Non League Yorkshire: “If we hadn’t had so many games over Christmas I would have probably been itching to get some match practice in, but we had Boxing Day, New Year’s Day so to have a Saturday off was a relief to everyone.
“It was a good chance to rest and recharge our batteries so there will be no excuses tomorrow as we should be fresh.
“Technically we’re not safe, but I’m not looking in that direction as I’m looking how high we can finish up the table.
“That’s the only way we can look at things. You look at tomorrow’s game and we’re playing a side in-and-around us.
“We can’t rest on our laurels, but that’s what we’re saying – we want to finish as high as we can and we want to look on the positive side and get up the league.
“It is a big game for us and if we can play like we did at Darlington then I will have no worries tomorrow.
“We were outstanding at Darlington and we deserved something out of the game.
“We need to have the same discipline and I’m looking forward to it.”
Brighouse were unbeaten during November – a run which has helped them push them up the table to 16th.
They then hit a blip of five straight defeats until the Farsley AFC victory.
Brighouse have lost their last two and Quinn added: “We had a good win on Boxing Day against Farsley and it is about us getting a good run of games together.
“We had a good run in November and it got us towards the target of where we want to be at.
“It is just about finding a little bit of consistency in the next couple of months. We want to push as it is a big period for us and we want to get as many points as we can get.”
