Darren Hepworth says table-toppers AFC Emley are continuing to leap over all the hurdles thrown in their path.
A floodlight pylon behind the home dugout at their famous Welfare Ground collapsed during the heavy winds last week forcing the postponement of their Toolstation NCEL Division One home game with Grimsby Borough.
It was a devastating blow to the village club, who have overcome the financial challenges which they faced in the summer.
Hepworth understands the floodlight will be fixed very soon.
He said: “It has been challenging for our committee, but they are working through like they have with all the problems we have faced in the last year .
“It was unfortunate that it affected our game and correctly we had to call it off.
“The guys are working hard to get it repaired and hopefully it will be ready for when we play a week tomorrow for the home game against Clipstone.
“I suppose Emley being situated where it is, it is exposed more to the elements.”
Emley battled through horrendous conditions during the goal-less draw at fellow promotion-chasers Pontefract Collieries on Wednesday night.
Heavy wind and rain ruined the league’s showpiece match and both sides struggled to create chances.
Pontefract had the experienced Phil Lindley sent off during the first half, but they were the most likely to score as the game wore on.
Hepworth said: “It was the same for both teams and we knew it would be hard coming here.
“Ponte are flying at the moment and scoring for fun so I made a few changes to the team and because of the conditions we had to change our style of play.
“We went a bit longer that we normally do. When they went down to ten men it didn’t affect them because of the way they play.
“To be fair they played really well and they were probably the better side in the second half.
“I was happy with a point. We knew it would be a test and we stood up to it really well.
“We went home with a point and a clean sheet and when you reflect at the end of the season, its games like that, that can end up making a difference.”
