Danny South made his debut for Shaw Lane Aquaforce as a second half substitute in the 1-1 draw at Walsall Wood in the FA Vase fourth round tie.
The striker has been a long-time target of Aquaforce boss Craig Elliott’s and he was signed last week after a short spell with Goole.
Elliott was looking to sign a forward as his leading goal-scorer Jimmy Eyles is currently ruled out with a knee injury which he picked up before Christmas.
Elliott, who has also previously managed Glasshoughton and Ossett Town, said: “He’s a player I have been chasing for two years at various clubs.
“I wanted him at the start of the season, but he went to Frickley.
“With Jimmy not available for the near future, we needed another option and he fits the bill.
“He’s great in the air, he scores and he’s a handful so I’m pleased to get him.”
Aquaforce are due to take on Walsall in the replay tomorrow night and they will find out who they could play in the fifth round when the draw is announced at midday today.
