James Cotterill has signed for his hometown team Shaw Lane Aquaforce as Craig Elliott bolstered his squad for the push for glory in the next few months.
Cotterill leaves Handsworth Parramore after eighteen months at Sandy Lane where he had become a popular player.
The experienced centre-back reunites with Elliott after working together during the 2012/13 season at Ossett Town.
He was captain of Ossett during Elliott’s first campaign in charge at Ingfield and Elliott admitted that he didn’t want to lose him to Handsworth in the summer of 2013.
Shaw Lane face a hectic schedule as they chase the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division as well as attempt to become the first NCEL side to reach the FA Vase final at Wembley since 1997.
Elliott told Non League Yorkshire: “He adds vast experience which we need at this time of the season.
“He is a player I very much admire and have worked with before. He strengthens us massively in defence for the busy and most important months of the season.
“He’s local as he lives in Barnsley so the location is ideal. We know how each other works and he knows most of the players already here so it is a very good signing.”
