Rich Williams will remain in charge of Retford United for the rest of the season.
Williams, the head of youth development at Retford, stepped into the breach after the entire football committee left the club following Russ Eagle’s decision not to take over from Paul Ward.
Williams managed to piece a side together to fulfil their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division fixtures and is tasked ensuring the club avoid relegation.
Retford have also rebuilt their committee and a statement said: “We would like to thank the fans for their patience over the last three weeks while we have been working behind the scenes to put things in place to see the club through the final 3 months of the season.
“Your continued support is very important to us as we try to guide the club through this difficult period.
“A new interim committee has been appointed with Club Chairman Bill Wyles having asked Brian Jackson to serve as vice chair along with Ian Beech and Robin Robinson from the supporters club.
“Rich Williams will remain as secretary but will not hold a vote on the new committee at this time due to his involvement with the management of the first team.
“The supporters club will continue to look after hospitality and the general running of home matches, Bill Wyles will continue to operate the clubhouse.
“In further news Bill Wyles has today contacted all those who have applied for the manager’s job at the club and informed them that the committee have decided against appointing a new manager at this time.
“Rich Williams has been asked to continue in his role as interim manager until the end of the season whilst the new committee decide on the future of the club. Rich will retain Ben Muirhead as assistant manager and U21s manager Chris Woodhead will also serve as 1st Team Coach.
“As a result of this the club are looking to add to the coaching staff at U19s level to take away some of the workload from Rich. Anyone interested in becoming part of the U19s coaching staff should contact Rich by email (richwilliams72@yahoo.co.uk).
“Rich is currently addressing the situation with the 1st team playing staff and having already brought Brett Lucas back to the club as well as adding Liam Coxon and local lad Martin Woodhead we can confirm that Rich is currently talking to players who can further strengthen the squad as we aim to move away from the relegation zone.
“There should be some signing news before the home game against Albion Sports on Saturday as we are very close to finalising some paperwork.
“Once again thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday.”
