Shane Kelsey was one of several players rested last week at Staveley and Craig Elliott is likely to give some of his leading stars the night off tonight at Handsworth

Craig Elliott insists that Shaw Lane Aquaforce will be going to Handsworth Parramore tonight looking to progress into the Toolstation NCEL League Cup quarter-finals.

Elliott does admit that he is likely to rotate his team just days after the epic 3-2 victory over Flackwell Heath in the FA Vase fifth round.

He said: “It is another game that we want to win.

“Against Staveley we changed things a bit and rested five or six players, but these players coming in are not young lads, they are good players.

“I have every confidence in every single one of my players. I have a 17/18 man squad and I would have no sleepless nights playing any of them.

“I trust all of them. I suspect I will change it round like Staveley and I would imagine there will be a couple of changes.

“I am definitely taking the game seriously though. It is one I want to win and it is a competition I want to do well in, like Handsworth will.”

The Vase win has knocked another league fixture at the end of the month to go alongside the string of recent postponements.

Aquaforce, who are also aiming to lift the Premier Division title, face a heavy schedule between now and the end of the season.

Asked if he intends on boost his squad numbers to cope with the run-in, he said: “Possibly. As I always am, I am talking to couple of players at the minute.

“I think I have got to do. Saturday was the key because if we got through I knew we needed a couple to keep us ticking over because of the amount of fixtures coming up.

“I’m also going to look at the option of dual-signing a couple of players as well.”
