Bradford (Park Avenue) thought they had beaten the weather last night until fog intervened to cause the West Riding County Cup semi-final with Tadcaster Albion to be postponed.

The Vanarama Conference North relegation candidates haven’t played for a month and the wait goes on.

Avenue had ironically conceded home advantage because they were more confident would go ahead at Tadcaster rather than at Horsfall Stadium which has had pitch problems this season.

Match referee Jason Whiteley gave the fog more of a chance to clear.

Discussions between himself, Tadcaster boss Paul Marshall and Avenue chief John Deacey began at 6.30pm and went onto until 7.45pm when the game was postponed.

The fog did clear at various points during the evening, but came descending back which was the key factor behind the referee’s final decision.

The two sides will try again next Monday at i2i Stadium in their bids to face Garforth Town in the final.
