Denny Ingram rescued a point for Tadcaster Albion with the last gasp equaliser in the highly-charged 3-3 draw with ten man Handsworth Parramore.
The Toolstation NCEL Premier Division leaders trailed to brave Handsworth for a long period and were losing 3-1 with ten minutes left on the clock.
Bruno Holden gave Handsworth the lead with a 20-yard drive before their midfielder Stuart Ludlum was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Going down to ten men did stop Handsworth and Luke Fletcher converted a cross with a excellent flick to increase Parramore’s lead on the hour.
More controversy followed as Parramore had to defend a corner with nine men on the pitch as their new signing Aaron Pride was off-the-field receiving treatment when George Bissett headed Tad back into the game.
Parramore assistant manager Mick Godber was sent to the dressing rooms in the aftermath.
But still Handsworth refused to wilt and Sam Smith hit the crossbar with a header before scoring a stunning 35-yard volley to increase his side’s lead.
Tadcaster mounted a final assault to rescue the game and Josh Greening gave them hope with his 85th minute goal.
Urged on by the home fans, Tadcaster nicked the equaliser with Ingram burying Paddy Miller’s corner with a bullet header.
Tadcaster Albion manager Paul Marshall:
“I thought in the end we deserved a point out of the game and I’m quite happy with a point.
“It could be a valuable point.
“I thought we were very slow in the first half and we never worked the ball well and it was disappointing with the work rate.
“I like lads to work hard win, lose or draw and some of them let us down in the first half and I told them that in no uncertain terms in the second half.
“There was a bit of a response in the second half, but it was all a bit bity.”
