Hat-trick hero Rob Bordman led Nostell Miners Welfare to a stunning 6-1 Valentine’s Day massacre over Garforth Town – their third win in eight days.
Paul Lines’ revolution is now well underway and West Riding County Cup finalists Garforth were left embarrassed in Crofton for the second season running.
When Bordman roams, goals tend to fly in from all angles and it was brother Dave, who got the party started in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division clash.
Nostell’s captain’s brilliant 30-yard effort broke the deadlock and the home side never looked back.
A penalty awarded for handball allowed Rob to break his duck for the day soon after.
Nostell hit the bar before the striker grabbed his second on the half-hour mark.
Even the dismissal of midfielder Greg Porter for a second bookable offence did not stop Nostell in their tracks.
They did concede at the start of the second half with CJ Lyle scoring for Garforth and then needed goalkeeper Ben Saynor to save Sam Jones’ free kick.
That concluded Garforth’s chances and Nostell scored two quick-fire goals on the hour through Tony Doran and Steve Wales to put the result beyond doubt.
There was still one matter to resolve and Rob Bordman sealed his treble in the last minute – his seventh goal in eight games since becoming Lines’ player/assistant manager.
Garforth’s miserable day was compounded when Jack McCarthy was shown his second yellow card in the dying seconds.
