Bridlington Town are looking to continue their fine form in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division, tomorrow away to Albion Sports.
Gary Allanson’s men have scored nine goals in their last three league games, with wins against Parkgate, Liversedge and Athersley Recreation.
The Seasiders have responded well to a run of five games without a win, which included draws against fellow promotion chasers Tadcaster Albion and Staveley Miners Welfare.
Brid manager Gary Allanson said: “We have come back really well.
“Having said that two games were against the leaders Tadcaster where we were very, very unlucky and showed what a good side we can be.
“Staveley were second at the time when we played then and one was a local derby against Pickering where we should have won.
“But that game alone really knocked the stuffing out of us and it was brilliant character to have come back.”
Allanson admitted that despite their 3-2 win against Athersley on Saturday, his side need to “perform better” and he added: “The result was very good but the performance wasn’t the best.
“We lacked a bit of passion, flair and creativity. We need to believe in each other and have the confidence to keep playing the right way.”
With 13 league games left this season the Seasiders will be looking to build from their current 6th place position in the league, and push for the top four.
Allanson said: “It’s going to be difficult to hit the top four.
“We have some really difficult games coming up and teams have games in hand over us, but we will keep pushing hard to achieve that.
“We have won our last four games (three in the league, one in the East Riding Cup) and confidence is high so we are in a good place at the minute.
“We have players coming back to fitness and this should push the squad more as players will want to keep their place in the team so the competition for places will really help us perform as a team.”
