League leaders Pontefract Collieries have sent out a statement of intent for the promotion run-in with two major signings.
Pontefract, who went top of the Toolstation NCEL Division One table on Saturday, have their best chance of clinching promotion in recent years and Lee Bennett and George Conway have arrived at Beechnut Lane.
The pair are available for the visit of Yorkshire Amateur on Saturday – the first of eleven cup finals.
Bennett arrives from Athersley Rec, where he has spent the last few seasons and has won promotion from Division One twice.
The striker was part of the Glasshoughton team which finished second in 2012 under Craig Elliott.
He then helped Athersley achieve the same feat in the following season.
Conway was released by Shaw Lane Aquaforce earlier this week and adds danger down the wings for Pontefract’s upcoming opposition.
The youngster, who was at Workington and Maltby Main last season, started the campaign well with a goal in Aquaforce’s opening day win at Tadcaster.
However, opportunities had been limited since.
